A residence on the northern side of Atlantic Beach. The project was initially going to be the remodeling of the existing home on the lot, but after discussing with the client, remodeling of the home to fit their needs and wants wasn't feasible. The clients lived a block away from this home, and wanted to move closer to the beach and to have a home that didn't shy away from sandy feet from morning beach runs and swims. The home opens up to the rear yard from the living areas and downstairs master, extending the spaces to the exterior of the home. The clients also required a home that leans towards the sustainable - geothermal system, high performance windows, great insulation, and green roofs. The home serves as a backdrop for the wonderful art collection of the civic minded couple.
